My celebrations started with my friend Peggy bringing me Lindor truffles and a lovely card. How thankful I am to have made a new friend and such a good friend here in Princeton—and even right at Barclay Square.
I received cards from two other friends from South Bend and Raleigh and texts from several others. My sister called and so did my friend Sue. Jim wrote me a very loving birthday greeting and we picked out white tulips and a few chocolates at Trader Joe’s on Saturday. My four oldest grandchildren all texted with birthday greetings. Laura sent beautiful flowers and called. Michael and little Henry sent two videos. Alex and Dan called with FaceTime. And we went out to eat at Seasons 52 with Jeff and Susan and they shared ice cream cake with us at our apartment afterwards.
Did I miss anything? It was a full day of feeling affirmed and I am grateful for it. I can’t help but wonder what the year will bring. Last year was the “year of the hip” and I am glad that is over. I hope and pray there are no medical crises this year. I have a feeling it might be a year of a big move to Stonebridge and more and more, I am ready for that adventure. As Jim pointed out in his card, we can do it together and that is good.
